Products of the Year 2003
It was a year for cautious investment in content and collaboration technologies in 2003. Corporate expenditures largely focused on integrating and extending existing applications rather than implementing new systems and technologies. In this challenging sales climate, many vendors focused on upgrades and add-ons, but there were still inovations and advances worthy of our annual awards program. In our estimation, all 24 products that made our list of finalists are outstanding, but a select group of 10 products are named as Products of the Year 2003 Winners.

Readers Weigh In
"Why let the editors have all the fun?" asked our publisher. "Let the readers tell us what they like." Great idea, we thought, but we had to come up with a fair, one-reader-one-vote way to avoid ballot box stuffing. After selecting a technology to create an online ballot and subscriber ID-based security scheme, we invited readers to pick their favorite products. The results are in, with 39 winners in 19 categories.
