LexisNexis Obtains Quick Results from BPM

August 19, 2003

Information provider LexisNexis (www.lexisnexis.com), Dayton, OH, says it gained a return on investment within four months using n3 business process management (BPM) software from Intalio (www.intalio.com), San Mateo, CA.

Using n3, LexisNexis built an automated order fulfillment process that reduced account setup and ID activation time from two days down to two hours. In some cases, small law offices were able to access material within a few minutes of placing their orders.

Along with the project ROI, LexisNexis says business managers and IT staff have aligned, working side-by-side to model business process flows and then convert them into application source code, paving the way for future cost-cutting and revenue-generating opportunities. Similarly, the company has created the BPM-driven middleware layer necessary to integrate various business systems that have historically been standalone data silos.
