Stellent Adds Lotus Notes Integration

October 15, 2002

Whether customers want to integrate with or migrate away from Lotus Notes, Eden Priarie, MN-based Stellent (www.stellent.com) has launched an initiative aimed at leveraging the content stored in Notes repositories.

The Stellent Lotus Notes Integrator is said to replicate and/or migrate Lotus Notes databases into the Stellent Content Management environment. The system automatically converts proprietary Notes documents into standard formats such as RTF, HTML and XML. Once Notes content is converted, users can access the content online and use Stellent Content Management features including library services, workflow content categorization, publishing, distribution and search.

Stellent says it developed the integrator in response to customer demand and in recognition of the large installed base of Lotus Notes users. According to Stellent vice president of marketing Dan Ryan, the Lotus Notes Integrator will free access to content previously locked in Notes. "Companies can quickly re-use the content by either publishing it to an intranet, extranet or portal; delivering it to other business applications; or distributing it to other repositories or partners," Ryan stated.
