Achtung! Document Comparison Gets Faster, Surer

San Francisco based Workshare released DeltaView 2.8, a new version of the company's document comparison tool. According to the vendor, the new version of DeltaView is faster, supports multiple languages (beginning with German) and sports a "fail-safe" comparison mode. The fail-safe mode double checks a pair of documents that don't match the first time around by stripping out non-visible characters such as the formatting applied by word processing programs.

Document comparisons are used to pin down changes that are made to documents and documenting those changes in a collaborative environment. DeltaView integrates with document management systems from OpenText, Documentum, iManage, Hummingbird and World Software.
