Automated Taxonomy Tool Boosts Enterprise Performance
Enterprise scalability and performance highlight the 5.0 release of SemioTagger, a content indexing
and categorization engine from San Mateo, CA-based Semio
(www.semio.com). SemioTagger organizes and
exposes information contained within unstructured data including e-mails, Web pages, documents
and within content repositories across an enterprise.
Version 5.0 features a new distributed/parallel processing architecture intended for
enterprise-scope performance and scalability. SemioTagger 5.0 reportedly processes millions of
documents at high speeds. SemioTagger now ships with a set of prebuilt taxonomy templates, and a new
graphical workbench lets users customize and fine-tune taxonomies and categorization processes to
suit individual, departmental and enterprise requirements.
The 5.0 release can perform real-time categorization (rather than just batch processing), crawling
each new document as it arrives and automatically refreshing indexes each time content is added or
changed.
