Low-Cost Taxonomy Software Enhances Documentum 4i

Documentum (www.documentum.com), Pleasanton, CA, has rolled out Content Intelligence Services designed to bring auto tagging, auto categorization and foundation taxonomy libraries to Documentum 4i in one low-cost package priced at just $50,000 per cpu.

The Content Intelligence Services offering is an enhancement of the company's existing Content Personalization Services software. The system's new tagging and categorization tool automatically tags and places new documents, e-mails and Web content into appropriate categories within a Documentum repository. The technology can take advantage of Documentum workflows to facilitate specialized manual tagging. An automatic content-linking feature establishes connections between related documents. Original content can remain in one location, but pointers to that content can be in multiple locations.

Predefined taxonomies provided along with Content Intelligence Services provide prebuilt classification libraries for industries such as financial services, biotechnologies and utilities as well as for departments such as human resources, customer service, legal and IT.

Current users of Documentum's Content Personalization Services will get the new software as a free maintenance upgrade.
