VeniceBridge Now 'Relates' as Well as 'Integrates'

Venetica (www.venetica.com), the Charlotte, NC-based provider of content integration software, has introduced VeniceBridge Relate as part of an upgrade of the company's VeniceBridge middleware. VeniceBridge Integrate already exposes content in disparate repositories to portals and other eBusiness applications. VeniceBridge Relate takes the next logical step by letting users create a single view of all the content associated with a specific process or topic, even when the content is distributed across the enterprise.

Relate creates a "virtual repository" for which the content is never replicated — it remains stored and managed in its original location. Application users can work with a view of content that spans one or more repositories. Content views may be predefined by an administrator or created on-the-fly by end users.

A set of Web development components delivered with Relate is said to make it easy for organizations to include Relate's functionality in an enterprise application, Web application or portal. This reportedly speeds development and reduces the cost of content integration initiatives.
