Output Management Gains an SAP Link

Stillwater, OK-based Esker (www.esker.com) has announced the availability of Pulse Version 2.0, an output management system that automatically takes output streams intended for print and converts them for use in fax and Web output. The new version adds compatibility with mySAP.com, a Web interface that enables users to create and broadcast documents from their desktop, and a distributed architecture that allows Pulse to be used from remote locations.

The new SAP-certified Pulse Connector for mySAP.com adds multichannel e-document delivery capabilities to the print-only output supported by mySAP and SAP solutions. Pulse captures application print streams and transforms them into electronic formats — HTML, XML, PDF, TIFF, and text — and delivers them via public or secure Web, e-mail, fax, distributed print or wireless messaging.

Using Pulse's distributed architecture, application developers and independent software vendors can reportedly integrate Pulse document delivery capabilities into their applications. This integration can be extended to application service providers as well as software run within an enterprise.
