Integrated Archive Adds E-Mail Automatically

South African vendor Spescom (www.spescom.com) announced the addition of eB Mail, an automated e-mail capture application, to the company's eB iDCR (integrated document, configuration and records management) software suite. eB Mail links with Microsoft Exchange to automatically capture e-mail messages and add them to the eB document management system.

eB Mail lets users set up rules to determine which incoming and outgoing e-mails are added to eB's repository. Information contained in the header of an e-mail message, such as the subject line, the sender and recipient, and data and time, all become metadata for classifying the message. Users can search and retrieve e-mails from either the eB document management system client or from the Microsoft Exchange client. A message stub is left in Exchange pointing to the location of the archived e-mail.
