Capture Upgrade Focuses on Better Recognition

Kofax (www.kofax.com), Irvine, CA, has begun shipping Ascent Capture 5.5, the latest version of the company's document and data capture software. Ascent Capture 5.5 adds RecoStar character recognition licensed from Océ Document Technologies (www.odt-oce.com). Users can also upgrade to the RecoStar Pro voting engine for state-of-the-art recognition performance. With release 5.5, the Ascent Capture Internet Server for distributed document scanning has been upgraded with a batch-class filtering feature that permits the downloading of batches of documents to specific remote locations rather than broadcasting batches to all remote locations. This improves security and prevents confusion that can arise when a remote location receives unneeded materials.
