IBM Puts Rights Management at the Core of ECM

IBM (www.ibm.com) is adding digital rights management to its enterprise content management infrastructure with the integration of the company's Electronic Media Management Software. EMMS lets customers digitally deliver, protect and secure copyrighted and digital content for distribution and e-commerce transactions. The software has been enhanced and integrated with IBM Content Manager, IBM VideoCharger for streaming video, DB2 database software and WebSphere server software.

Formerly a standalone offering for the music industry, EMMS has been upgraded to support a broader range of media types, including text, images and video, in addition to audio files. EMMS is built on open standards including XML and Java. It enables delivery of digital assets to PCs, PDAs, CDs, retail kiosks, set-top boxes and mobile communicators.
