'Mass' Access To Content

The state of Massachusetts hopes to improve collaboration among more than 160 state offices by easing contribution and access to content through the Mass.gov portal. The state has chosen Content Infrastructure from Interwoven (www.interwoven.com), Sunnyvale, CA, to handle the portal's content management.

Mass.gov is the first phase of the state's initiative to embrace "one-stop shopping" for government services, giving citizens, businesses, cities and towns the ability to interact with the Massachusetts government. Interwoven says nontechnical state employees will be able to use familiar desktop applications to add content to the new portal.

Among the first state units to use the portal will be the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Public Health. Both agencies expect to provide fast access to up-to-the-minute advisories.
