Captovation Upgrades Browser-Based Scan Software
Minneapolis-based Captovation
(www.captovation.com) has released
a new version of ecNet, the
browser-based document capture component of the company's eCapture software. The new version of
ecNet adds the ability to index as well as scan batches of documents through browsers. Captovation
says the update will increase the speed at which users can scan and index large numbers of
documents. Support has also been added in ecNet for Microsoft's Secure Socket Layer. This permits
document images to be securely sent over the Internet to the central site.
EcNet incorporates a client and a server. The ecNet client is an ActiveX control that is downloaded
and installed when a user connects to the ecNet server. The ecNet client uses industry-standard
TWAIN (www.twain.org)
interfaces to capture documents from desktop scanners or other TWAIN-compliant input devices
