ECabinet Software Speeds Searching

Ricoh Silicon Valley (www.rsv.ricoh.com), Cupertino, CA, has brought improved searching and monitoring capabilities to its eCabinet network attached document management device with the release of Version 2.2 of eCabinet software. eCabinet communicates with network peripherals including copiers, scanners, fax machines, printers and even PCs (including Web and email content). Saved information is automatically indexed and can be routed to users and workgroups. Task-based features can be accessed from Web browsers.

The improved query processing supported through Version 2.2 software is said to search documents twice as fast as the previous version. Selectable OCR levels let customers recognize only critical metadata. A new document processing status indicator lets eCabinet administrators see the status of documents as they are processed.
