An Open-and-Shut Case for Asset Management

Samsonite, Denver, one of the world's largest luggage manufacturers and distributors, has implemented the MediaBin 2.0 brand asset management system to deliver media content for its myriad Web sites and retail partners.

Samsonite's Web and graphics teams supply digital photos and logos to partner Web sites and retail chains such as Sears and J.C. Penney. The technology from Atlanta-based MediaBin (www.mediabin.com) speeds the production and distribution of marketing assets for online and print use.

Since implementing Mediabin 2.0, Samsonite reports that the production schedule for its U.S. Web site was slashed by two weeks. The system has been integrated with Samsonite's existing Interwoven Web content management system. Future plans call for an extranet that will enable Samsonite licensees and retail partners to access manuals and printed materials.
