Oracle Integration Brings Scalability to PaperPort

The desktop meets the enterprise with the release of a special Oracle 9i-enabled version of PaperPort document management software by Scansoft (www.scansoft.com), Peabody, MA. Integration with Oracle 9i databases will permit PaperPort users to scan from their desktops to an enterprise database using the Oracle Internet File System (IFS), a Web-based file system that stores all types of data including Web pages, email, spreadsheets, XML and document images. The integration of PaperPort with 9i and IFS will reportedly turn documents currently managed and shared at workgroup level into enterprisewide resources.
