Children's Charity Goes Nationwide Online
Just for the Kids, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising academic standards and
increasing student achievement in schools across the United States, selected a content management
system from Stellent (www.stellent.com),
Eden Prairie, MN, for its Web site at www.just4kids.org.
The site is used to make public school information available to state education departments
nationwide.
The Just for the Kids Web site initially provided school test data, teaching tools, research and
other information to help improve public education in Texas. With expanded capability to include
multiple states, the Stellent Content Management system allows employees and partners, such as state
education agencies, to quickly and easily publish new content and add new states to the Web site.
This ultimately helps educators improve and accelerate student achievement.
Using Stellent Content Management, Just for the Kids employees and contributors submit content to
the Stellent Content Server through Web browsers. Content such as word processing documents,
spreadsheets and graphics are stored in their native formats. The Stellent Content Publisher
automatically converts this native content to a variety of Web formats, such as HTML, XML, PDF or
WML, and automatically publishes the content to the Just for the Kids Web site. The system
eliminates the need to route content to a webmaster for coding. Stellent Content Management relies
on design templates to ensure a uniform look and feel throughout the Just for the Kids site.
