One Stop Shopping for CM Hardware + Software

Austin, TX-based Vignette (www.vignette.com) and Armonk, NY-based IBM (www.ibm.com/servers) have announced the availability of Blue Packs, packaged Web content technology for small and medium-sized businesses. Blue Packs combine Vignette's Content Suite V6 software with IBM's eServer pSeries hardware. The software bundle also includes IBM's WebSphere Application server and DB2 Universal Data Base Enterprise Edition. The eServers are pSeries 610, 640 or 660 computers equipped with 64-bit Power3-II microprocessors and use IBM's AIX operating system.

IBM says Blue Packs let users source a complete Web content management system including hardware and software from a single vendor rather than spending time and money cobbling a system together with components from a number of manufacturers. Pricing had not been determined at press time.
