Datacap Masters Distributed Scan & Capture

Datacap (www.datacap.com), Tarrytown, NY, in November announced Task Master 5.0 and Task Master iCapture. The combination of Task Master 5.0 and iCapture distributes scanning to multiple locations through a thin-client interface while keeping data capture tools (OCR, IMR, OMR and barcode recognition) on a centralized server. The thin-client scanning interface is streamlined for speed while high processing demands are kept on a heavy-duty centralized server.

iCapture extends Task Master to Web clients using Microsoft's Internet Information Server (IIS). Task Master and iCapture communicate with each other via XML. Once documents are scanned and recognized, they may also be verified and edited through the iCapture interface.
