Processing emergency room billing just got easier for Reimbursement Technologies, Conshohocken, PA. The provider of financial management, billing and collections services for emergency physicians across the United States has selected Tower IDM from Boston-based Tower Technology (www.towertech.com) to improve billing efficiencies and customer service.

Using Tower IDM, Reimbursement Technologies' 500 employees will have immediate access to patient charts for the 3 million patients seen annually in its associated hospital emergency rooms in more than 20 states. Patient charts containing financial, medical and insurance documents comprise 100,000 pages of information that the company receives each day in both paper and electronic form.

The initial implementation will be deployed in Reimbursement Technologies' prebilling area and will be used to capture, store, retrieve and direct patient charts to the appropriate individuals. This will enable more efficient coding of the services provided by emergency room physicians and more timely, accurate invoicing.

Tower IDM will be integrated with the company's existing billing system and will route documents using IDM Case Management tools built on Plexus FloWare software. Ultimately, Reimbursement Technologies plans to expand the system to its post-billing collections and customer service operations.
