Captiva Recognizes Invoices

Captiva Software (www.captivasoftware.com), San Diego, is set to release InvoicePack, a processing system designed to recognize and extract data from invoices of variable design. The data is transferred to ERP and accounting systems while invoices are sent to document systems for archiving.

InvoicePack combines image processing, OCR and neural network technology for intelligent recognition of data fields such as customer numbers, purchase order numbers and quantities. If an invoice doesn't match any previously recognized invoice layouts in its database, InvoicePack applies recognition and neural network technology to identify each data field type. New invoices are added to the database as they are encountered. InvoicePack is expected to begin shipping in December, with pricing starting at $30,000.
