Farmers Insurance, Los Angeles, has implemented the Content
Infrastructure from Interwoven (www.interwoven.com), Sunnyvale, CA.
Farmers provides home, auto, business and life insurance services
through 17,000 exclusive and independent agents and district managers.
The technology will be used for enhanced extranet and Internet sites
that will enable employees to contribute content directly to the Web.
Before implementing the Content Infrastructure, marketing managers would
generate a change request, sort through the changes and prioritize for
IT. IT would then assign changes to a Web developer who would perform
the actual modification and technical QA. The business user would then
review and approve the changes. From start to finish the whole process
could take as long as two weeks. Since deploying the new technology,
Farmers reports that update times have been cut down to minutes instead
of days.
