The Regional Income Tax Authority (RITA) of Ohio, located in Brecksville, has chosen the Tax and Revenue
capture system from Datacap (www.datacap.com), Tarrytown, NY, to
automate data capture from income tax
returns.
RITA is a consortium of the 86 Ohio municipalities and counties that was founded to centralize Ohio's tax
collection processes. The agency receives more than three million personal and business tax returns each year.
Temporary workers using manual data entry methods now complete half a million returns per month. RITA
hopes to significantly speed processing with the implementation of Datacap's Tax and Revenue system.
Following the initial recognition deployment, RITA plans to redesign the state tax forms to make them more
recognition-friendly. Full production is slated for the first quarter of 2002.
