Merrill Lynch Takes 'Exstream' Measures

The Benefits and Investment Solutions (BIS) division of Merrill Lynch, New York, has selected the Dialogue output management software from Exstream Software (www.exstream.com), Lexington, KY, to help process redesigned retirement statements.

Merrill Lynch handles more than $300 billion dollars in total retirement assets for 2.5 million plan participants and 2.6 million IRAs. The BIS unit generates more than 2.5 million statements per quarter.

Using Dialogue, Merrill Lynch was able to put redesigned 401(k) statements into production in five months, customizing statements for more than 400 plan sponsors. Exstream reports that Merrill Lynch plans to use Dialogue so it can offer statement delivery over the Internet, as well as in printed form.
