AXA Financial Uses XPP for Postscript and PDF

AXA Financial, New York, the parent company of the Equitable Life Assurance Society, recently completed an implementation of XML Professional Publisher 7.0 (XPP), from XyEnterprise (www.xyenterprise.com), Reading, MA. AXA is using XPP to move the bulk of its financial services typesetting in house.

Previously, AXA Financial split typesetting between an outside services company and in-house staff. As the number of product prospectuses increased, AXA sought to consolidate all work internally. AXA also wanted to be better equipped to convert from a typeset format to the SEC's new regulatory EDGAR format. XPP can deliver documents in Postscript or PDF formats.

During the first few months with the XPP-powered publishing system, AXA has typeset as many as 10,000 pages per week. Before the XPP deployment, it took up to 12 hours to produce an EDGAR version of a document, but AXA reports that it now takes just minutes to produce a fileable document.
