Universal Music International (UMI), the world's largest music company, has selected the Information Management Suite from Hyperwave (www.hyperwave.com), Boston, to provide its employees with instant access to news and information through a corporate information portal.
The UMI intranet will be used primarily to publish and share information among the Universal City, CA-based company's more than 12,000 employees worldwide, speeding daily business processes. The system will provide a portal to a number of Web applications and intranet sites that have been developed within UMI.
Initially only 50 people at UMI will contribute content, but the number of users with write privileges is expected to be vastly expanded as the system develops.
