Interwoven (www.interwoven.com), Sunnyvale, CA, in late June released the PortalReady Software Development Kit (SDK). Built on Interwoven's recently unveiled open application program interface, PortalReady is intended to speed portal deployments by providing a single, standards-based development interface to Interwoven's TeamSite content management software.
PortalReady employs XML and the Simple Object Access Protocol to support both Microsoft .Net and J2EE portal environments. The SDK provides an abstraction layer said to simplify integration and reduce unnecessary network traffic to ensure high performance with as many as tens of thousands of simultaneous users.
As part of the PortalReady launch, Interwoven simultaneously announced portal partner program support from ATG, BEA, Bowstreet, DataChannel, Epicentric, IBM, iPlanet, PeopleSoft, Plumtree, Sybase and TIBCO.
