Xpedio 5.0 is the latest content management platform from IntraNet Solutions (www.intranetsolutions.com), Eden Prairie, MN. Introduced in June, Xpedio 5.0 includes enhanced enterprise platform support and development tools, globalization features and content contribution and conversion capabilities.
Xpedio's enterprise platform enhancements include more extensive support for Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) and Active Directory. A new JSP server lets users develop Web sites and customizations using Java Server Pages. The system now has a Visio graphical development interface that allows users to graphically design workflows.
To support globalization, Xpedio 5.0 incorporates a localization kit. IntraNet Solutions will be releasing French and German versions of Xpedio, while selected partners will produce Japanese, Korean and Portuguese versions.
To broaden contribution capabilities, the 5.0 release incorporates a Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV) Server. The server allows users to directly contribute and access content from WebDAV-enabled clients, including Office 2000 and popular HTML and XML editors. The software is priced from $100,000 to $250,000.
