Web-based PDF Forms

Cardiff Software — Comdex L1839

Let’s face it. Processing paper is a pain in the pocketbook. Put that form online with PDF+Forms from Cardiff Software (www.cardiffsw.com). Using existing forms or designing them from scratch, this $2,495 module lets you capture information from the Web and process it using Cardiff’s Teleform Elite forms processing software (which starts at $6,000).

These PDF files can be distributed by e-mail or file transfer application and completed using Adobe Acrobat or Acrobat Reader over the Web. Users have the option to complete forms online or fax or scan a form that was printed and completed by hand. Both online and hand-filled forms are processed automatically using the same Teleform system. Data accuracy is improved through client- and server-side validations and verification. The system gives you unlimited potential for Web entry into a central server. The system will be demonstrated at Comdex as well as at the Adobe exhibit at the Xplor show.

Email Archive and Retrieve

Optical Image Technology — Xplor 2409

Email is fundamental. It’s also missing from too many document archives. Email Server is a just-released storage and archive system from Optical Image Technology (www.opticaltech.com). Email messages are automatically indexed with data such as the message “subject,” and the cascade tree gives you five-level filing capabilities (e.g., company, department, account, folder, page). Whether new documents are entered into the system via OptiFiche (OIT’s Enterprise Report Management module) or OptiImage (the company’s document imaging module), they are saved into the correct folder. The system brings quick retrieval and permanent storage to the number-one corporate communications medium. The system supports Windows 3.x/9X/NT clients and any Windows NT-based server.
